I get not liking Spring Breakers, especially if you were one of the 10000 people that don’t know who Harmony Korine is, or his work, and were thus fooled by its marketing into thinking it’s anything other than a Harmony Korine movie - but people coming away with the tangible detail that there’s no “plot” or “story,” I could totally tell you the story right now (spoilers) - “Four girls, two insane, one on the edge, one good, want to go to Florida for Spring Break. The crazy ones rob a diner to get the money, and they go and have a great time, until they’re arrested and bailed out by insane rapper/gangster Alien, who takes them in. The good one runs away, and the girls left start robbing tourists and selling drugs and doing dirt shit with Alien until a meaner gangster that was once Alien’s best friend don’t like the heat coming down on them and decides to strike back.” How is that not a story? Please choose a new complaint. “It was way too weird,” totally works.

I am a lower-middle class heterosexual cismale that passes for white. This give me inherent societal privileges. I possess deep-seated sexist, classist, and racist tendencies, due to growing up in and being coddled by an oppressive culture.
